Mike Hill -
Pastor
Hello! I'm Mike
Hill, the Senior pastor at Calvary Chapel Aberdeen. I graduated from the University of California, San Diego in
1988 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology while working as a
grocery store clerk. In 1988, I also received Jesus Christ as my
Lord and Savior. He
radically changed my focus and purpose in life. |

|
|
I began studying the
Bible on a regular basis and developed close relationships with
other Christians through a Home Fellowship.
In 1992, I completed a 9-month program at the Horizon
School of Evangelism in San Diego and also married my wife,
Janice. (We met at
the School of Evangelism—also affectionately know as the
"School of Engagement.") We moved to Boise in 1993 to
raise our family. We
have three children: Joey,
Mary and Grace. I continued my Bible training at the Cole
Center for Biblical Studies as an intern pastor.
In 1995, I was
hired on staff at Calvary Chapel Boise as the Youth pastor.
In following years I served as an Assistant pastor where some of
my responsibilities included overseeing the Marriage and Family
ministry, coordinating Home Groups, and planning events such as
outreaches, men’s retreats and family camps.
As the result of
people praying and the work of the Holy Spirit, my family and I
moved to Aberdeen, Idaho, in December 2003 to begin a new
Calvary Chapel. Our
goal is "to know Jesus and to make Him known.”
Please feel free
to contact me with any questions, suggestions, or concerns.

David Wedel
- Church Elder
David (Dave) Wedel (pronounced wade’el)
has lived his entire 50 years in Aberdeen, Idaho.
He has been married to Denise for 7 years and they have
two beautiful, young children:
Anna and Frankie. He
owns and operates Wedel Farms.
“I came to a
knowledge and faith in Jesus Christ as a young boy, through the
love and examples of my parents, Sunday School teachers, and
others in church.
|
|
|
I don’t
remember when, but it seems that it has been almost all of my
life.”
His favorite
Bible verse is Isaiah 41:10:
Fear
not, for I am with you: be
not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you;
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Will Sanders -
Church Elder
Wilford (Will) Sanders grew up in
Eastern Oklahoma. He
lived in Checotah, OK, until his mother was killed in an
accident. He then
went to a private orphanage at Sand Springs, OK.
He moved to Idaho after graduating from high school and
has lived here for 51 years.
He’s been married to
Christine for 50 years.
|
|
|
They have 8
children, 34 grandchildren and 1
great grandchild. He
is now retired after being self-employed in the trucking
industry.
“I grew
up in the Catholic church and was taught that it was ordained by
God and that no man had the authority to change it.
In the early 70’s, they started changing the Mass, the
nun’s habits (clothing), and many other things.
This was so against all that I had been taught, that it
destroyed my faith in the church.
I did not set foot in a church for almost 3 years.
“Then in
1978, the Teton dam broke and flooded much of the Snake River
Valley. Since we lived on a farm and had dairy cows, all of our
animals had to be tested for brucellosis.
That’s when Ed Darty, a government veterinarian from
Alabama, entered my life. He
was a Christian and invited me to go with him to a dinner held
by the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship.
I went with him out of curiosity, but it became so much
more. This is where
and when my personal relationship with Jesus began.
That was October 1978.”
Will’s
favorite verse is Psalm 23.
